Dr. Sc. Med. Mirjana Branković-Magić
President of Europa Donna Serbia, dedicated to advancing oncology practice and awareness of hereditary breast cancer
Dr. Sc. Med. Mirjana Branković-Magić is a molecular biologist and Doctor of Medical Sciences with many years of experience in research and advancing oncology practice in Serbia. She served as Head of the Department of Experimental Oncology and Director of the Research and Education Service at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia. She founded the Genetic Counseling Unit for Hereditary Cancer at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia. Thanks to her efforts, testing for hereditary predisposition to breast and ovarian cancer became a healthcare service covered by the Republic Health Insurance Fund.
She is the President of Europa Donna Serbia – The Serbian Breast Cancer Forum and the national representative in Europa Donna – The European Breast Cancer Coalition. She is committed to raising awareness about prevention, early detection, and hereditary breast cancer.
She is the author of numerous publications and educational materials, including the brochures Heredity and Cancer (2015) and Hereditary Breast Cancer (2025). She received the National Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding contribution to the fight against breast cancer (AVON Foundation and B92 Fund, 2023).
She participated in developing the National Clinical Practice Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Breast Cancer (Hereditary Breast Cancer chapter, 2025).
She successfully completed the European Breast Cancer Advocacy Training Course (Milan, Italy, November 2019).
